Rotterdam – Frank J. Marino, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14th, 2018. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY to his parents, the late Nicola and Antoninna (Mistretta) Marino of Marsala, Trapani, Sicily. Frank graduated from Manual High School in Brooklyn and soon after worked as a welder at Todd’s Shipyard during World War II, riveting and welding vessels used in the war.

After the war, Frank joined the New York City Police Department and received many awards and commendations. In the 1960’s Frank and his wife, Santa, relocated their family to Schenectady. There he worked as plant supervisor at the former Campbell Plastics, retiring in 1985.

Frank was an avid hunter, wood worker and chef extraordinaire. Besides Frank’s parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Santa J. (Seggio) Marino, his daughter, Nancy Marino McBath and one grandson, Kevin Kane. Frank leaves behind his children, Annette Kane, Nick Marino (Charlene) and Janet Endres (John), grandchildren, Colleen Indiano (Matt), Christopher Marino, Jamie Davenport (Josh) and Jessica Smith (Clinton) and his great grandchildren, Madeline, Matthew and Victoria.

He also leaves behind his son-in-law, Frank McBath and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam.

Funeral services will begin Friday morning at the funeral home at 8:45am and will be followed by a funeral mass in which Frank’s daughter, Nancy, will be honored as well at 9:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, 210 Princetown Rd. Entombment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Ste.
