Frank R. Zimmermann, 75, of Rockford, passed away July 19, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. Born December 2, 1942 in Oak Park, IL, the son of Frank O. & Miriam (Briggs) Zimmermann. Received his MBA from Loyola University.

Served in the Army National Guard Reserve. Married Marguerite “Marge” Tardy, in Riverdale, IL on April 18, 1970. Frank worked in industrial sales management, then later founded his personal insurance agency, Zimmermann Insurance Co, retiring in 2014.

… Read More » He was a master craftsman, designing and building furniture. Volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed playing golf, , watching the Chicago Bears, traveling, spending time at their second home in Fort Meyers, FL.

, but most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include wife, Marge; children, Frank L. Zimmermann and Jill (Gordon) Wilkinson; grandchildren, Luke and Isabella Wilkinson, brothers and sisters-in-law Larry (Sue) Tardy and Mike (Michele) Tardy; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and sister Marcia Lindberg.

Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford, IL 61107. Followed by burial at 3:45 pm Risen Lord Cemetery, 1501 Simons Rd, Oswego, IL 60543. Visitation Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
