Frank Shippy April 15, 1932 – May 12, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Frank Shippy, 87, of Macomb, IL passed away at 1:05 PM Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Lamoine Retirement Community. He was born April 15, 1932 in Fairpoint, OH to Frank and Angela (Smokovich) Shippy. He married Florence L. Frakes on December 29, 1986; she preceded him in death on November 1, 2013.

Surviving are 5 daughters, Cheryl (Ralph) Perkins of Tallahassee, FL, Candy (Joe) Bilotti of Macomb, IL, Margo (Craig) Rutledge of Adair, IL, Kim (Bill) Hillyer of Macomb, IL, Bobbi (Tim) Norton of Macomb, IL; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a special aunt, Nancy Miller; and a special niece, Kim. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one granddaughter, Marissa Bilotti; one great-granddaughter, Lana Rutledge; and one sister, Deloris. Frank was employed by Bower Roller Bearing in Detroit before getting transferred to the Macomb plant, where he retired after 45 years.

As a pastime Frank loved gardening, flowers, camping, boating, and dancing. He enjoyed doing antics with, and on, his friends. He was quite the prankster.

Frank proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Macomb American Legion Post 6 and enjoyed being a Shriner. Funeral services will be held privately.

Calling hours will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Stoneking Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.
