Frank Staton, Jr., age 90, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Autumn Care of Marion, his loved ones were by his side. Born in Mitchell County, North Carolina on January 16, 1929, he was the son of the late Frank Ben and Mable Gouge Staton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynn Staton; one son, Scott Staton; and two sisters, Mae Stamey and Bobbie Cheek.

A member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Marion, Frank enjoyed being around horses and cattle, but most of all, he loved being with his family and friends. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Judy A. Staton of the home; three sons, Larry Staton and his wife, Barbara of Moore, South Carolina, Steve Staton and his wife, Erma of Marion, North Carolina and Mitchell Wilson and his wife, Beth of Lexington, North Carolina. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one niece; and special friend, Bill Queen and his wife, Lynn.

A celebration of Mr. Staton’s life will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Mitchell Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mr. Staton’s memory are asked to consider, The Gideon’s International (McDowell West Camp), P.O. Box 1788, Marion, North Carolina 28752.
