Faye Queen Davis, age 94, of Marion, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City. Faye was a native of McDowell County, she was born January 3, 1925 to the late Andrew and Molly Chandler Queen. She was a member of Clinchfield Baptist Church.

Faye worked two careers, as a supervisor at Burlington Industries and at East McDowell Middle School in the Cafeteria. Family meant the world to Faye and she showed them though her dedication to them. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Throughout the years Faye loved and was loved by many. She was her grandson Andrew’s biggest fan at his racing events. Faye enjoyed gardening, whether it be her flowers or her vegetables.

She will be missed by her three sisters who were very special to her. In addition to her parents, Faye was proceeded in death by her husband of 20 years, William “Bill” Davis. Left behind to cherish her memory is a son, Bill Davis and his wife Diane of Lilburn, Georgia; three sisters, Edna Vess and Louise Duncan, both of Marion; Betty Carpenter and husband Avery of Spruce Pine; two grandsons, Andrew Davis and his wife Lindy of Athens Georgia and Marcus Davis of Virginia; and one great grandson, Layne Davis of Athens Georgia.

The funeral service for Faye will be Friday, May 24, 2019 at 3:00 in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
