Mary Wilson “Bootsie” Proctor, age 85, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her home. Mary was born in Union, SC on April 30, 1934 to the late Benjamin F. “Frank” Wilson and Dorothy McGalliard Wilson. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mary was known for her compassionate heart nurturing nature.

She and her husband, Billy, who passed away just ten months before her, were wonderful parents who not only raised their children well but also looked after most of the kids in their neighborhood, feeding and watching out for their best interests. She prepared delicious meals for her family and will also be remembered for giving the best hugs. Mary will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

She leaves behind four children, Bill Proctor and wife Evelyn of Marion, Candyce Sheehan and husband Bruce of Dysartsville, Tracy Wilson of Marion and Kelly Proctor and wife Tammy of Dysartsville; a brother, Douglas “Buddy” Wilson of Marion; three sisters, Sally Finley, Peggy Nix and Margie Wilson, all of Marion; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Clinchfield United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
