Obituary for Franklin Delano Roosevelt “Frank” Carr Sr. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Carr, Sr., “Frank”, 77, of York, passed away suddenly Friday, September 21, 2018 at Piedmont Medical Center. He was born September 5, 1941 in Cool Springs, WV, son of the late Joseph Edward Carr and Texie Viola (Carr) Carr. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Lynn Carr; sons, Frank Carr, Jr. and Franklin D.R. Carr, Jr.; six brothers; and six sisters.
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. A very religious man, his faith was always important to him. Frank was a proud brick mason and avid Carolina Panthers fan.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cars and watching Fox News. A jack of all trades, Frank was a mechanic, carpenter and truck driver. He will be dearly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 54 years, Geraldine “Geri” Rosa Carr; sons, Allen Sturgill and wife, Pat of Rock Hill, Robert Sturgill of York, Bobby Carr and wife, Norma of VA, Joseph Carr and wife, Elizabeth of TX, Chien Phan and wife, Amanda of Rock Hill and Frankie Wireman of York; daughters, Vickie Lawson of York and Patricia Bennett and husband, Bennie of Rock Hill; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Wymer and husband, Don of VA; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the funeral home.
