He completed his education and also went to trade school in Delmenhorst. His parents fled Germany during WWII, taking Franz and seven of his siblings throughout Europe before settling temporarily in Lima, Peru, where he eventually met the love of his life. Franz took several textile courses and worked in a textile company in Lima.

On February 5, 1956, Franz married Ada Blume Viacava. Together they immigrated to the United States and started a family in Warren, Ohio. As a result of his worldly travels, Franz fluently spoke many languages including German, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, English, and even some Russian.

Mr. Hrabowy retired as a supervisor in 1982 after 26 years of employment with Cargill Inc., C. Tennant Sons & Co. in Warren. He was also the co-owner and operator of Ada’s Fashions, Fashions by Ada, and Grunge to Glam, marching band uniform manufacturing and textile printing companies. While outwardly quiet, Franz was a strong man who exuded kindness and found great joy in making the people around him happy and always taking care of his family with selfless love.

He maintained a positive attitude through any challenges placed before him, working and fighting tirelessly until the end. As a young boy, Franz played soccer ball in Germany. His passion for the sport continued throughout adulthood, as he enjoyed watching any level of soccer that was televised.

Franz was always up to date on current events, enjoyed watching CNN and was passionate when it came to political discussions. He enjoyed listening to Polka music and singing along to his favorite German Christmas songs. Most importantly, Franz cherished being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren.
