Fred Edgar Ackerman Lansing Passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the age of 75. Born August 1, 1943 to William and Marguerite (Stevens) Ackerman in Durand, Michigan. Fred honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He went on to work for Grand Trunk Western Railroad where he retired as a train dispatcher. Fred was a member of the Durand VFW Post and enjoyed spending time in Saugatuck, Michigan. Preceding him in death were his parents and nephew, Kenny… Read More » Ackerman.

Surviving are his daughters, Kristie Ackerman, Kasey (Jason) Lutrell; granddaughter, Reagan Lutrell; brother, Frank (Sandy) Ackerman and nephew, Craig Ackerman. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at a later date. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Durand Depot, or Reagan Lutrell’s College Fund care of Kasey Lutrell.
