OBITUARY Fred “Charlie” Evans Sr. November 26, 1940 – January 31, 2019 A Tribute To and Testimony of Frederick Evans Sr. On January 31st 2019, our Lord Jesus Christ came and received one of his sons home to glory as Frederick M. Evans Sr. awoke in the presence of our Lord Jesus. May his tribute and testimony be a witness of God’s free Grace in Christ that saves sinners. Frederick Evans Sr., known to all as Fred and many as “Charlie” was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was a man of great strength and was head strong, in both his work and in his religion for many years. At the age of 17, he found himself a husband and a father. In his life, he would go on to be a master plumber, a home builder, and owned his businesses throughout his life.

For more than 50 years this would support and join not only himself and his family but others of family within his life. God made him very successful in his trade with little outside education or training, and placed what needed to be done within his reach. He was a man of great principle and honor.

He was a man that loved his wife, his children and made his family one. A man of few words that showed strength and blessings through much sacrifice he gave his family a home and all the provisions one could ever want or need. His testimony: He believed on Christ and the gospel of Jesus Christ was all his hope, all his joy, and all his peace until the Lord Jesus, in sweet grace, took him home to glory.

He is survived by his wife, Christene Evans; children: Kerry Evans, Charles Evans, and Fred Evans Jr., Ashlyn Evans and Niki Evans; ten grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter to be born this month. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Steven M. Evans. We rejoice and give thanks to God to have such a husband, dad, and grandfather as he was that loved his family, a man that Loved God, loved Christ, and loved his people.

He will be remembered at Gipson’s Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas on Wednesday February 6, 2019 with viewing from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M followed by the services at 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www. gipsonfuneralhome.com Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
