Fred “Cotton” Shaffer age 79 a resident of Charleston passed away Friday May 3, 2019 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was the son of the late Jack and Jesse Boles Shaffer. Cotton was a well-known dairy farmer working for Clarence Lawson and Earl Calfee.

Even though Cotton passed away his legacy will live forever. He is survived by his wife Lily Mae Shaffer his sons Tony Shaffer, Wayne Shaffer and his wife Hazel, Stevie Shaffer and David Shaffer, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren his sister Betty Jo Miller. A Remembrance of Life service will be held Thursday at 1 o’clock at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave.

Chapel with Rev. Jim Hibbard officiating. The interment will follow at Moore’s Chapel cemetery with friends and family serving as casket bearers.
