OBITUARY Fred Michael Warren February 18, 1949 – February 1, 2019 Mike Warren, 69, of Cypress, Texas passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Fred Michael “Mike” Warren was born in Houston, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Buddie Warren on February 18, 1949. He attended high school at Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas.

He graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where he studied Agriculture. He later received his MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. He married Cindy Warren on December 26, 1992 in Sagemont and had 26 wonderful years.

He worked as an Operations Vice President for a decade where he enjoyed crafting solutions to complex work problems. He was a true servant leader. In addition, Mike was a University of Phoenix Professor and served as Director of Operations for First United Methodist Church of Houston.

Mike always enjoyed spending time at their property (“Southlake”) near Angleton, Texas; whether it was sitting on his tractor, fixing something, or just watching sunsets on their lake with Cindy. Mike was a faithful member of First United Methodist for several years where he led mission trip across Central America. In 2003, he was able to achieve a lifelong dream of leading a mission trip to Cuba.

He spent the rest of his life following God’s plan in Cuba to make missionaries and support pastoral leadership so that the Gospel could be spread. This was Mike’s life work and through this ministry he was able to find God’s purpose for his life which he had been searching for many years. Mike and Cindy have been attending Community of Faith Church near Cypress, Texas for the past 8 years where they have enjoyed supporting the mission work that is done so beautifully there.

Mike is preceded in death by his son, Andy Warren; his brother, Paul Warren; and his dad, Buddie Warren. Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy Warren; his mom, Henrietta Warren; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Brian Weaver; and his beloved granddaughters Allison and Megan Weaver. Mike’s awesome mom Henrietta is still very much with us and is a blessing to our lives.

In addition, Mike is survived by loved nieces and nephews including his sister-in-law, Betty Warren. Pallbearers will be Alec Warren, Shawn Essery, Jake McDonald, Randy Liska, Nathan McCoy, and Mario Enrique Perez (missionary from Cuba) Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Colonial Chapel, Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home located at 6900 Lawndale Avenue in Houston Texas, 77023. Funeral services will be held from 1-3 pm on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Chapel of Angels, Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home located at 6900 Lawndale Avenue in Houston, Texas, 77023.

The Warren family wishes to extend our most sincere thanks to all the medical professionals in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center of Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mike’s life work in Cuba. You can support a missionary for a month for only $20.
