Cecil “Fred” Runnells, age 75 of Middletown, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at Otterbein of Lebanon. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on January 1, 1944 to Cecil and Mildred (Staggs) Runnells. Through the years, Fred enjoyed boating, golf, archery, baseball, riding his motorcycle, making things in his workshop and especially fishing with his grandson.

Fred was a loving husband, father and grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents. Fred retired from General Motors, Delco Moraine after 30 years of service.

Fred is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brenda (Cannoy) Runnells; son, Scott Runnells; grandchildren, Lillie and Landen Runnells; other family members, Helen Kontnier, Judy Cannoy, Dan Cannoy, and Beth Runnells; nieces and nephews, Paul and Adam Brown, Emily (John) Coppa, Dani (Mike) Slagel, Corinne, Aidan, Ella and Max; and special friends, Jack Miller, Jim Strohman, Don Oswald, and many others. He will always be remembered for his wit, humor and stories he loved to tell. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Wildwood Golf Course, 601 Aberdeen Dr, Middletown.
