Freda Angers , April 26, 1926 — September 16, 2018

SCARBOROUGH – Freda M. Angers, 92, formally of Saco and Old Orchard Beach, died peacefully and with dignity at her home with her loving son by her side on Sunday September 16th, 2018. Freda was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was born on April 26th, 1926 in St. Francis, Maine.

She moved with her parents to Old Orchard Beach and helped them operate the Mainland Hotel for many years. She worked at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, Connecticut as a telephone operator where she met the love of her life, Mark. They moved back to Maine in 1968 and raised their son, Stewart.

Freda was always a loving, thoughtful and generous person not only to her husband and son, but also to her wonderful extended family. She was one of ten children and the last surviving sister of them all. Freda was predeceased by her parents, George and Eunice Morrison, and by her loving husband, Mark.

Freda hosted many wonderful parties at her oceanfront home in Bayview, Saco for friends and family alike. She was always ready for a lively debate at any time and especially with regard to politics. An avid reader, Freda enjoyed all kinds of books.

She enjoyed her daily conversations with her late sister Faye and loved travelling across the country and taking many trips to Canada and Europe as well. She is survived by her loving son, Stewart, and daughter-in-law, Chantal Brisson; sister-in-law, Jeannine Kallberg and brothers-in-law, Gilles Angers and John Chapin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Diana Interland, Robin Morse and Sterling Morse all of whom she dearly loved.

The family wishes to thank the doctors at Intermed, especially Dr. Daniel Loiselle, as well as the nurses and staff at Hospice of Southern Maine. Visitation will be Friday September 21st from 6pm to 9pm at the Old Orchard Beach Funeral Home, 36 Portland Avenue, Old Orchard Beach, Maine. oobfh.com.

A funeral service will be held at First Parish Congregational Church, 12 Beach Street, Saco, Maine on Saturday September 22nd at 11am. Burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 293 Beach Street Saco. If desired, a donation can be made in her memory to the Democratic National Committee.
