Claude Gilbert, 71, of Lyman, died Wednesday October 17, 2018 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. He was born January 13, 1947 in St. George, P.Q., Canada a son of Adrien and Marie Reine (Larochelle) Gilbert and was educated there. He came to the States in 1968.

For most of his working life he was a self-employed dry-wall installer. Claude was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Gilbert in 1987 and his first wife Diane in 2014. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Fortin) Gilbert of Lyman His daughter, Cathy Gilbert Copeland and husband Uriah of Arundel Brothers: Jacques Gilbert of Rockville, CT Paul Gilbert and wife Donna of Saco Sister: Micheline Laplante and husband Lucien (“Cowboy”) of Canada Grandsons: Jonathan Welch and Troy Welch Great Grandchildren: Tru Megan Welch, Adrianna St. Clair, and Styles Hunter Welch Step-sons: Justin Fortin, Jeremy McMahon, and Jay McMahon Niece, Melissa Gilbert and several other nieces and nephews Graveside service and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery on Wednes day, October 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
