Simonne Y. Taschereau, 96 of Arundel, Maine passed peacefully Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Simonne Belanger was born March 31,1922 in Biddeford, daughter of Alfred Belanger and Leda Thibodeau Belanger and was educated in the Biddeford school system. She was employed by the Kesslen Shoe Company for many years and later married Philip J. Taschereau of Arundel and together they raised their family of five children.

She enjoyed having a house filled with family and making memories over a home cooked meal. After retirement, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Philip J. Taschereau and her brothers: Joseph Leon Belanger, Edgar Belanger, Paul E. Belanger and her sister Marie Ange Hebert all of Biddeford, Maine.

She is survived by her children: Philip A. Taschereau and his wife Paulette, Armand C. Taschereau and his wife Donna all of Arundel, Vivian LeClair and her husband Robert, Suzanne M. Curlew and her husband Daniel, Richard L. Taschereau and his dog Rex, all of Tucson, Arizona as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street Biddeford, Maine 04005. Visiting hours will be held at Hope Memorial on Thursday, October 18th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, October 19th at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. The family requests that only family meet at the funeral home and for friends to meet the family at church. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Honoring Simonne’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cancer research foundation of your choice.
