Freda’s Obituary Freda Lawana (Curry) Farnsworth, 93, of Independence MO was called home by God on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019. Freda was born in Toledo, Oregon on August 10th, 1925 to Ellis and Ruth (Fohrman) Curry. She was raised in Robinson, Arkansas but lived most of her life in the K.C. / Independence area.

She married William Scott Farnsworth on December 8th, 1947 in Gentry a small town in Arkansas on the way to their new home in Kansas City. She was a waitress, hair stylist, seamstress at Pioneer Bag Company, housewife, child care giver and Nutrition Services Personnel for the K.C. School District at Northeast High School. Foremost and most of all she was a wonderful and loving Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and Great-Great Grandma.

She was a long time member of TOPS, and served faithfully at the Blue Valley Women’s Ministry for the Salvation Army serving others for approximately the last 20 years of her life. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, devoted husband, 1 brother, Lloyd Curry and 2 sisters Priscilla McGarrah and Gloria Curry. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Lawana Payne of Independence MO, her 2 sons, Scott Odell Farnsworth and wife Peggy of Grain Valley, MO, and Timothy Grant Farnsworth and wife Kelly of Humansville, MO.

9 Grandchildren. 28 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

She was surrounded by her loving family when she left this world. Heaven has gained a shining star and a hard and devoted worker. The family would like to thank the Caregivers at Centerpoint Medical Center of Independence for their excellent care and compassion during her final days with us.

We will all miss her greatly. Visitation will be Monday, January 7th from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Services will be Tuesday, January 8th at 11: 00 A.M. Both will be held at the Muehlebach Chapel, 6800 Troost Ave. , Kansas City, MO.

64131. There will be a private graveside service afterwards for the family. In lieu of flowers you may make donations to one of the following organizations which Freda always supported: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Salvation Army. The American Lung Association.
