Obituary for Frederick Johnston Sr. Frederick Barry Johnston, Sr., passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Falling Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg. Born Friday, September 14, 1945 in Tempe, AZ, he was a son of the late Clayton P. and Dorothy M. Millhouse Johnston. He was a 1963 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, and then received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the Shippensburg State Teachers College.

He was of the Methodist Faith. Barry was a United States Army National Guard and Army Reserve Veteran. He worked as a Systems Analyst at Letterkenny Army Depot.

, and was transferred to Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. , where her retired in September of 2000. Barry was a member of the American Legion Post # 223 Shippensburg, Shippensburg Fish and Game Club, and the Walnut Bottom and Dillsburg Fish and Game Clubs.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bertha Alice Rebuck Johnston, whom he married June 8, 1968; one son, Frederick Barry Johnston, Jr, and his companion, Doreen Harr, Dillsburg; two brothers, Clayton L. (Penny) Johnston, New Franklin, and Ricky Johnston, Shippensburg; three sisters, Karen Johnson, and Deborah Johnston, both of Shippensburg, and Melody Orr, Dillsburg.
