Obituary for Frederick Lee Wenell Frederick Lee Wenell, age 72, of Fruitport, MI and Estero, FL, passed away at his home Tuesday, December 25, 2018 among his loved ones. He was born April 16, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI to Fritz and Theresa (Meerman) Wenell. Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran.
On September 13, 1968, he married the former Coral J. Bolt in Walker, MI and they had recently celebrated 50 years of marriage together. Fred and his wife, Coral, founded Competition Engineering in Marne, MI and retired from that business (Tool and Die) in 1997. They also own Robbins Nest Apartments in Grand Haven, MI and Marne Industrial Buildings in Marne, MI.
Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved old cars and his Tuesday’s in Florida with his friends for beer and hot dogs. SURVIVORS include his wife of 50 years, Coral; 2 children: Scott Wenell, Theresa (Jason) Braun; 4 grandchildren: Emma and Paige Wenell, J.J. and Coral Sue Braun; mother-in-law, Dena Bolt; brothers-in-law: Jay (Carolyn) Bolt, Roger Bolt, Dale Ozinga; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Frederick James; parents; sister, Elaine Ozinga; niece, Linda Veldboom; and father-in-law, John J. Bolt. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 31, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday, December 30, 2018 and one hour prior to the service Monday morning.
Burial will take place in Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ or the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated. Share memories with the family at their On-line Guest Book at www.
