Obituary of Frederick Bierer Frederick Bierer, Jr., 90, of Reedsville, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1928 in Morgantown, a son of the late Frederick and Sheila Elizabeth (Christen) Bierer. He was a member of the Mt.

Vernon United Methodist Church and a 52 year member of the AF&AM Lodge #4 in Morgantown. He retired as a Maintenance Supervisor from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Green Bank. He is survived by his spouse of 70 years, Sue Ann (Lucas) Bierer; children, Fred E. Bierer and his wife Charlotte of South Carolina and Rebecca Abraham and her husband Bill of Tennessee; grandchildren, Sara Abraham, Kimberly Abraham, Melissa Bierer, and John Frederick Bierer; great grandson, Aiden Harper; siblings, Thomas Bierer and his wife Marge, Dian Carr, Michael Bierer and his wife Frances, Jocelyn Collins and her husband Edmund, and Samuel Bierer and his wife Delania.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kirsten Abraham Bell; and brothers, Edward Bierer and David Bierer. In keeping with his wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at the Mt.

Vernon United Methodist Church, 5360 Kingwood Pike, Reedsville, on Saturday, October 13th at 11 AM with Pastor John Brosky officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 5360 Kingwood Pike, Reedsville, WV 26547.
