Obituary for Fredrick D Zalewski Fredrick D. Zalewski, 79, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Kenosha Hospital surrounded by his family. Fred was born in Wausau, WI, on September 4, 1939. He was the son of Irene and Ben Zalewski.

Fred was educated in Mosinee, WI. Fred came to Kenosha for work at (then) American Motors as a machinist. He also worked at Holmes Manufacturing.

After retiring from Holmes Manufacturing, he owned and operated the gun shop Eagle Trading Company before retiring completely in 2014. In his own words, Fred “lived a life beyond his dreams and imagination”. He had an early career in drag racing, was featured several times in Hot Rod Magazine, and was inducted into the Union Grove Dragway Hall of Fame.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gun collector, and avid story-teller. Fred married Shirley Wysocki in 1960 and they had three children: Jeffrey, Jacqueline, and Yvonne. His son Jeffrey R. Zalewski preceded Fredrick in death.

Fred is survived by his wife Shirley and daughters Jacqueline and Yvonne and their spouses Anteaus Rezba and Russell Stollenwerk and his siblings Dolores Kromka (Boonton NJ), Kenneth Zalewski (Stevens Point WI), and Sally Bushman (Knoxville TN). Fred is also survived by many nephews and nieces. Funeral arrangements for Fredrick D. Zalewski are private.
