Obituary for Gail Edith Shea Gail Edith Shea passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at St. James Healthcare after a fall and lingering illness. She was born in Butte, Tuesday, July 14, 1936 to Charles and Jean (Fennah) Smith. She attended the Monroe School and graduated from Butte High School.

On June 5, 1954 she married Tim Shea, the son of the late Ann and the Tim Shea in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Together they raised four children, Tim, Cathy, Terri and Gary. Raising her children was the happiest time of her life.

Gail trained at Butte Community Hospital in medical records. She set up the medical records department at Silver Bow General Hospital when it opened in 1960. She worked for Dr. and Mary Lou Hall for 12 years and then worked at Mountain States Energy until 1985 when she retired.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cross stich, macramé, reverse glass art, ceramics and genealogy. She took four trips to Wales, from where her grandfather, Joseph Fennah immigrated in 1906. For 41 years she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Social Sorority, served in several offices and on several committees and enjoyed the meetings and parties.

Gail is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved grandson, Matthew Shea, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara Smith and Ann and Ed Sheehan, Jack Moore and Tom Billteen. Survivors include her husband, Tim Shea, Sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Janet Shea of Butte Gary Shea of Butte, daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Chris Murphy of Browns Gulch and Terri and Dan Roche of Georgetown Lake. Grandchildren include: Tim III and Michelle Shea of Butte, Nick Shea of Butte, Stacey and Jake Petersen of Meadow Gulch, Melissa Murphy of Las Vegas, Dan Murphy and Stacy Allen of Butte, Justin and Jessie Brown of Missoula, Kristen and Tom Schafer of Butte, great-grandchildren: Mallory Shea, Willy Shea.

Timmy Shea IV, Taylor Shea, Randi Hendrickson, Leighton Carpenter, Cooper Petersen, Zyler Petersen, Landon Murphy, McKinsey Allen, Charlie Murphy, Addie Brown, Tanner Brown, Dylan Brown, Wiley Schafer, Jayna Schafer and Jarren Schafer.
