Obituary for Garry Nuckolls Garry Nuckolls, 75, Maryville, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, MO with his family present with him. Garry was born October 2, 1942 in Elmo, MO to Leo and Edna Nuckolls who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Miller and JoAnn Lewis.

He is survived by his daughter, Traci (Steve) Wilson, Kansas City, MO and grandson Jase Wilson, San Francisco, CA, and daughters Kristi (Bruce) White, Maryville, MO and Codi Nuckolls, Maryville, MO, Sisters Francis Martin, Coin, IA, Gloria McCowen, Coin, IA and Jade DeWelt, Joplin, MO and various nieces, nephews and cousins. Garry was a drywall contractor and painter who also did custom home interior work. He was a musician who played guitar and sang in various bands throughout his life.

He was an artist who painted and drew. He saw beauty in many things and was able to point it out in ways to many who might not have seen it otherwise. He liked animals and children – he always had a treat in his pocket for the dogs and had a way to pick out just the right toy for a child’s birthday gift.

He painted pictures for friends and family and drew wonderful caricatures for many that are treasured today. He was a fisherman and spent every available opportunity at the reservoir to catch bait and at the river where he was happiest to fish for the large catfish of which he caught several. He will be missed by all who love him but we know his pain is gone and he is free so we will look for him in the breeze on the warm, sunny days at the river – just waiting on the next big cat to bite… A funeral service will not be held; however, a Celebration of Life and music session will be held in the near future and notice will be placed in the paper.
