Gary D. Frye July 25, 1946 – December 18, 2018 Gary D. “Hook Man” Frye, 72, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 12:30 pm in his home. Arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. He was born July 25, 1946 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to the late Howard and Lillian (Smith) Frye.

On February 5, 1972 in Michigan City, IN he married Gertrude “Trudy” Wozniak who survives in Michigan City, IN. Surviving are three daughters, Dawn (Scott) Siegmond of Michigan City, IN, Rhonda (Kim) Mitzel of Michigan City, IN and Kimberly (John) Esmeyer of LaPorte, IN; eight grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Logan, Matthew, Megan, Emily, Hannah and Madison; three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Ellie and Benjamin; sister, JoAnn (David) Meyer of Michigan City, IN; and brother, Larry (Mary) Frye of Indiana. He was also preceded in his sister, Donna; and brother, Jimmy.

Gary had worked at Allis Chalmers and retired after 26 years as a truck Driver at Bulk Transport Inc., Michigan City, IN. He then went to work as a valet for Four Winds Casino and than as a sales associate at Kablin Ace Hardware in Michigan City, IN. Gary was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, pitching horseshoes, yard work and playing slot machines Contributions may be made to to the family of Gary Frye.
