Obituary for Gary Francis Beiser Gary Beiser, 74 of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Atrium Medical Center. Gary was a graduate of Fenwick High School and the University of Pennsylvania School for Respiratory Therapy. He was one of the first Registered Therapists in the country.
After graduation he returned to Middletown Hospital where he developed and managed the Respiratory Therapy Department. During his 30 years at the hospital he also developed and managed numerous other Cardiology services, retiring in 1993 as Director of Cardiopulmonary Services. During his career he also served on many hospital and community boards including the Hospital Credit Union, American Red Cross, and was a long term member of the Trenton Rescue Squad.
After retirement Gary obtained his real estate license and was employed with Sawyer Real Estate. He developed and managed his own residential rental business (Beiser Rentals) in Trenton. Gary and his wife Paula spent many winters at their condo in Naples, Florida where he worked his “ultimate” job as a beach tram driver for the Pelican Bay Foundation for over 19 seasons.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Arnold, a brother Larry, and infant sister, Margarite. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula; three sons, Jonathan (Kirk Renfro) Beiser of Hamilton, Matthew (Lori) Beiser of Hamilton, and Patrick (David Rhule) Beiser of Middletown; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jessie of Trenton, Ohio, and their mother, Julie Beiser; two brothers, Kenneth (Nancy) Beiser of Liberty Township, Gregory Beiser of Orlando, Florida; five sisters, Barbara (Gary) Daughetee of Trenton, Janet (Joe) Zappia of Middletown, Marilyn (Larry) Grutt of Gladstone, MO, Joyce (Jerry) Bogan of Mason, Diane (Tom) Puckett of Trenton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 14, 2019, at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father John Civille, Celebrant.
Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Sunday at the Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
