The man the myth the legend. Gary “GW” (G stands for gorgeous) Wendell, passed away peacefully of a long illness. Born September 17, 1961 in Charleston, WV.

He attended East Bank High School, worked for CSX from 18 years until he became disabled. He was on the Town of East Bank Sanitary Board. He loved hunting with his son and grandson; and spending time talking to his granddaughter.

GW loved watching Marshall Dillon with his fur buddy Jake. GW never knew a stranger. GW will be having a reunion with his son, Gary Wayne, and his father, Charles Wendell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Edna of 33 years; mother, Bonna Wendell; son, Ron Hamm (Shannon); grandson, Eli Hamm; granddaughter, Lilly Hamm; brother, Herbert Wendell, Jon Wendell; sister, Phyllis Massey (Marty), Barbara Bill (Bert); and Betty Perry (Ronnie); uncle, Bill Hudnall; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Pryor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Pryor Funeral Home with Rev.
