Gary W. Heffernan, 72, of Business 220 Bedford, died Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital, Snake Spring Twp. Mr. Heffernan was born in Washington, DC, on March 21, 1946, the son of the late William and Ruth (Lucas) Heffernan. Gary was employeed by Potamac Gas Company of Maryland as a Meter Reader.

He served in U.S. Army as a supply clerk and was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113. He was the husband of Diana (Cogan) Heffernan, whom he married on May 30, 2013. In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Bridget wife of Glenn Munsee, Fairfield, PA; Daughter- Maureen wife of Scott Kacpura, Spring Grove, PA; Son- Andrew Heffernan, Nicaragua; Step Son- Justin Himes and fiance Lynn (Lauffer) , Mt.

Pleasant, PA ; Step Daughter- Christina wife of David DeRose, Altoona, PA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren – Savanah, Gavin, Lucy and Lenny, 3 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30PM at the Bedford American Legion Post #113, 3721 Business 220, Bedford (Lower Level) with Pastor Kathy Speck officiating.

Friends are invited to call Saturday 1:00 – 2:30PM at Bedford American Legion. Military Rights by Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Arrangements entrusted to Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
