Shirley E. (Campbell) Burkett, 88, of Meyersdale, PA died at 4:30 PM, Sunday, November 18th, 2018 at Rest Assured Living Center, Meyersdale, PA. Mrs. Burkett was born in Hopewell, PA on October 14, 1930, daughter of the late Ira and Ruth (Burket) Campbell. Shirley was the wife of Kenneth Burkett whom she married on April 26, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1987.

She is survived by Daughter- Jolene wife of William Kendall, Bedford; Son- Lee widower of Susan (Bisch) Burkett, McDonald, PA. Shirley is also survived by 6 grandchildren- John Burkett, Lori Schneider, Julie Burkett, Jason Burkett, Beth Brunelle, and Billy Kendall and 5 great grandchildren. Shirley was a member of Yellow Creek Church of Brethren.

Mrs. Burkett was a homemaker and she also worked as a secretary for Red Cross and the Bedford County Courthouse for the Register and Recorders Office. Shirley liked volunteering, embroidering and listening to music. Friends will be received on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 10 – Noon at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 12 PM with Pastor Dan Oldham officiating. Interment at Steele Cemetery Hopewell, PA. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory ofShirley E. Burkett to : Rest Assured Living Center 1137 Shirley’s Hollow Road, Meyersdale, PA 15552 C/O Margo Zur.
