Gay Johnson September 08, 1939 – February 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Private Condolences Gay (Nelson) Johnson passed away on February 22, 2019. She was born in Riverton, West Virginia to the late Wilbur and Tena (White) Nelson on September 8, 1939. She graduated from Circleville High School in 1958.

Until her passing, she lived in Winslow, Illinois. She loved gardening, bird watching, hunting for morels, huge Green Bay Packer fan, but above anything else, her family was most important to her. She is survived by her siblings Ron Nelson, Betty Thompson, Gale Nelson, Genevieve Schwab, Macie Simmons, Kathy Vandevender, and Violet Borman.

Her daughter, Jannelle (Erich) Buisker of Forreston and her son, Justin (Jeani) Johnson of Winslow. Her many grandchildren Cody Meier, Kristina Johnson, Dalton Meier, Delaney Buisker, Maggie Johnson, Sami Johnson, Letrese Buisker, Lakayla Buisker, Chance Buisker, Olivia Johnson. As well as her great grandchildren Merrick Meier, Makayla Meier, Kennedy Zweifel, and Rhett Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry D. Johnson, her daughter, Jarrelle (Kelsey) Meier, sister Ruth (Kimble) Wilfong, her parents Wilbur and Tena Nelson, granddaughter Makayla Meier. Per Gay’s request, there will be only graveside services for family at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois. Also per her request, memorials may be sent to 8499 West McConnell Road, Winslow, Illinois.
