GENE’s Obituary Gene H. Kelly, age 89, formerly of Coxsackie, NY peacefully went home to be with our Lord on 23 January 2019, in Palm Bay, FL. Gene was born in Albany, NY on Nov 18th, 1929, the son of Martin E. Kelly, Jr., and Julia (nee Cary) Kelly. He married Anna L. Kniffen on Oct 16th, 1949, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Coxsackie, NY.

They had four children together and celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in 2018. Gene was a volunteer fireman and a lifetime member of the D.M. Hamilton Steamer Company #2 in Coxsackie, NY. He was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life.

Gene was a dedicated and valued employee of International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) in Kingston, NY for 34 years before retiring in 1990. He and Ann moved from Coxsackie to Barefoot Bay, FL shortly after his retirement. Gene was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Coxsackie, NY and St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay, FL.

Gene was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Julia M. Wanek, and a daughter, Kathleen Kelly. He is survived by his wife, Ann of Barefoot Bay, FL; son Kevin and wife Rosella Kelly of Richmondville, NY; daughter Karen and husband Jerry Frisbee of O’Fallon, IL; and son Karl Kelly of Jacksonville, FL. Gene is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In keeping with Gene’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Coxsackie, NY. He will be interred at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Coxsackie. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gene’s memory may be made to Hospice of Health First, Inc., 1900 Dairy Rd, Melbourne, FL 32904.
