Obituary for Genene A. Hansen Genene Ann Hansen, 80, of Minden, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Bethany Home in Minden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating.

Private family burial will take place prior to services at the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Genene was born on February 26, 1938 in rural Adams County, Nebraska to Louis and Louise (Meyer) Classen.

She received her education at Hastings High School. Genene was united in marriage to Donald A. Hansen on September 13, 1958 in Hastings. The couple made their home in Minden where they raised three children.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, enjoyed quilting and made sure each of her children and grandchildren received a handmade quilt. She also enjoyed baking, having made numerous cookies and pies for various family and church events. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stephen (Connie) Hansen of Minden, Michael Hansen of Hastings and Michelle Hansen of Minden; four grandchildren, Morganne Pieper, Luke Pieper, Sydney Hansen and Jonas Hansen; 1 great-grandchild, Spencer Thies; brothers, Bill Classen and Roger Classen; sister, Marilyn Schmidt, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald in 1995, and brothers, Don Classen and Lamoine Classen. Memorials are suggested to Bethany Home or to Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
