Kissel, 97, of Pinecrest Manor, formerly of Wilcox, was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October, 1 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. David J. Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Rasselas, with arrangements under the direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home in Johnsonburg, Pa.

Ms. Kissel passed away Thursday, September 27th, 2018, at Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys. Born, August 7, 1921, in Wilcox, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Homich Kissel. A lifelong resident of Wilcox, she was a 1939 graduate of Wilcox High School.

Genevieve was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She loved spending time with all of her extended and immediate family making a fuss over all of her nieces and nephews. She loved to make everyone she was around feel special.

She especially loved to make her specialty Pigs-in-the-blanket for anyone who asked for them. She retired from Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital in 1983 after 7 years of service. She also worked at Stackpole Carbon Company for 40 years and worked for the Surgeon General’s Office and the State Department during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

Surviving are four nieces, Mary Jane, Mrs. Charles Pistner; Suzanne, Mrs. Jack Rose;Valerie, Mrs. Bruno Iorfido and Leah Sipe. Also surviving are numerous great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank J. Kissel; two sisters, Violet Wilhelm and Victoria Buck; nieces JoAnn Bauer and Patricia Grier; and a nephew , Paul “Mickey” Buck.
