George Davis Nowlin June 10, 1943 – May 29, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Funeral services for George Davis Nowlin, age 75 of Shelbyville will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Gowen-Smith with Brother Lloyd Warren and Chaplin Jon Anspaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. Mr. Nowlin passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family Visitation with the family will be on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 11:00 am until the time of service.

Mr. Nowlin was born on Thursday, June 10, 1943 in Normandy, Tennessee to the late Paul Nowlin and Lena Driver Nowlin. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He retired from Albea after 37 years of service.

He married Jane Downs Nowlin and they were married for 35 years. She preceded him in death in 1996. He later married Sherry Marr Nowlin of Shelbyville who survives him and they have shared 20 years together.

Other survivors include 2 children: Kim (Freddy) Cooper of Shelbyville and Tim (Stephanie) Nowlin of Wartrace, 2 step children: Shannon (Francisco) Infante of Shelbyville and Ted (Juli) Binkley of Chapel Hill. He is also survived by 1 sister: Ann Sartain of Manchester, 4 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren , 1 great grandchild and 2 step great grandchildren. Along with his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by one brother: Paul Nowlin and 3 sisters: Johnnie Hastings, Peggy Sid and Laura Nowlin.
