Boyle age 93 passed away peacefully at his home February 27, 2019. George is a World War II Navy veteran serving on the aircraft carrier Intrepid from 1943 to 1946 as a 40 mm gunner. George and his wife Claire were the founders of the USS Intrepid Association at their home in 1976 when the carrier was in Philadelphia for the Bicentennial.
He is the beloved husband of 70 years to Claire (nee Georger). Loving father of Kevin (Nita) Boyle. Relatives, friends and members of American Legion Post are invited to gather on Wednesday March 6 2019, 1030 to 11:15 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church 9700 Frankford Ave.
, Philadelphia PA 19114, followed by his funeral mass at 11:30 AM. Interment is Washington’s Crossing National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. In lieu flowers donations in his memory to the Saint Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Way Memphis TN.
