Obituary for George Gerald Cunningham Mr. George Gerald Cunningham, age 76, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018. He was born in Muskegon on January 19, 1942 to George and Blanche (Pierce) Gauthier. George was a 20-year veteran of the United States Army, earning rank of Tank Platoon Sergeant, and was stationed throughout the United States and Germany prior to his retirement.

After retiring from the Army, he returned to Muskegon and drove a truck for 20 years, retiring from Foreway Transportation in 2006. He was a member of the VFW Post #8846 and the former American Legion Post #69. On March 20, 1959, George married the former Shirley Wood and she survives him along with their daughter Carrie (Bill) Ducharme of Alabama; three grandchildren, Kayla Flores, Karley Flores, and Rudy Flores, III; two sisters, Sharon Tucker and Ruth Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.
