George H. Butler, 76, of Lenawee County, MI, passed away, Monday, July 2, 2018, at home, while under hospice care. He was born September 27, 1941 in Lorain, OH, to parents George and Mary (Maxwell) Butler. George was employed with Chrysler for more than 30 years, retiring in 1991.

After retiring George enjoyed working at Whiteford Valley and Bedford Hills Golf Courses. He was a skilled horseshoe pitcher, winning the State Championship in his division in 2006. George and his wife bowled in several UAW leagues over the years.

He also was an avid traveler visiting all the states except Alaska and Hawaii. George was a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 54 years Joan (Saylor) Butler; daughters Karen (Larry) Lesher and Tracy (John) Palmer; son George (Sarah) Butler JR.

; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister Linda Nolin. George was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Jonathan Fowler; great-grandchildren Carter Grzesiek and McKenna Josephson; and sisters Lois Coker, Janice Cousino and Sharol Heter. Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Friday, July 6th from 11 AM until the Funeral Ceremony begins at 1 PM.

George will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
