OBITUARY George L. “Pete” Hammock May 9, 1928 – November 30, 2018 George L. “Pete” Hammock, 90, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Chapel. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be private with Dr. Morgan Kerr officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1848 Tucker Road, Macon GA 31210. Pete was born in Wrightsville, Georgia to the late Marchman and Iris Tharpe Hammock.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jay Rodney Hammock, and two brothers, James Hammock and Sterling Hammock. He served in the United States Army during Korean Conflict. Pete was retired from Georgia Power Company after 40 years of service.

He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Pete was an avid NASCAR fan and spent many years in Motocross racing with his two sons. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Wyolene Hammock of Macon, son, Stephen (Deborah) Hammock of Macon, grandson, Jason Hammock of Macon, and granddaughter, Sara Beth Jones of TN.
