Obituary for George Lehrer George Lehrer, of Powell, OH, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2018. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War. He was a teacher in Sandusky, OH and a principal in Huron, OH and Coldwater, OH before retiring from Franklin County Municipal Court as a bailiff.

Preceded in death by his parents George and Katherine Lehrer, brother-in-law Gene Sharp and nephew Kenny Lehrer. George is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen. He is also survived by his children Patti Lehrer and David (Linda) Lehrer, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings Karl (Jane), Ken (Donna) and Kathleen Sharp, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Sandusky HS and received 2 degrees from Bowling Green State University. He was a community member of St. Thomas More Newman Center on the Ohio State campus, American Legion Post 470 in Coldwater, OH, and a proud 65+-year member of Grand Lodge F & M of Ohio, Science Lodge # 50 in Sandusky, OH. George received excellent, compassionate and attentive care from OSU Wexner Medical Center Doctors Gordish, Scharre, and Mazzaferri, Jr

He made an anatomical gift of his body for the purpose of medical research and learning to the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 9—12 noon, with Memorial service to be held at 12 noon, officiated by Father Joe Ciconne, C.S.P. at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 W. Olentangy St. Powell, OH. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215, in his memory.
