George’s Obituary George Potzgo Jr. of Fairless Hills died at the age of 87 on Monday, February 11, 2019 at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. He is at peace now and reunited with the love of his life, Lorena. Born in Foundryville, PA, Mr. Potzgo formerly resided in Freeland, PA and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years until retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1968.

After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Potzgo moved to Fairless Hills and was employed with American Can in Edison, NJ for many years until retiring in 1991. Mr. Potzgo was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, the American Legion Memorial Post #960, AARP and was an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police Pioneer Lodge #37. For 15 years George was a dedicated volunteer mail room ambassador and shuttle bus driver at St. Mary Medical Center where he logged over 7900 hours.

Beloved husband of the late Lorena, Mr. Potzgo was the loving father of George III (Wendy), Kenneth (Debra), Roberta Tomlinson, Teresa Wright (Donald) and Diane Sevin (Jeff). He will also be missed by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his siblings, Elsie, Dolores, Molly and Michael.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3:30 until 5 p.m. on Sunday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd. , Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Interment and military honors will take place at precisely 9 a.m. on Monday at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. , Newtown, PA 18940.

There are no calling hours at the funeral home on Monday morning prior to the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
