George Roger Stelter October 23, 1939 – February 07, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card George Stelter George Roger Stelter, age 79 of Randolph, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Randolph Health Services after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. George was born on October 23, 1939 in the village of Fairwater, WI, the son of Myron and Leona (Ziegert) Stelter. He graduated from Markesan High School in 1957.

He enlisted in the National Guard and had training in the state of Washington. He was employed at Busse Brothers in Randolph for many years and also at the Beaver Dam Mall as a janitor. His most rewarding job was being a janitor at the Randolph High School for 15 years.

He was a big fan of the Randolph Rockets football and basketball teams and attended many games until his health did not allow him to anymore. He was also a big supporter of the Randolph FFA. He cherished all of the friends that he made with faculty, staff and students over the years.

He was also a big fan of Scotty Neitzel racing and faithfully attended as many races as he could. George was a member of the Fox Lake American Legion Post 521. George is survived by a special niece, Karen (James) Lee of Columbus; 2 brothers, Harold (Dorothy) Stelter of Beaver Dam and Gary Stelter of Randolph; a niece Dawn (Dan) Vander Heiden of Freedom; special friends Richard Nieman and Mary Reak.

He is further survived by a daughter, Cindy (James) Hilke and a son James Stelter Busse; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great nieces and nephews and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle and aunt, Oliver and Frances Stelter. George was always such a giving person and loved to help anyone that needed it.

He lived with a fighting spirit all of the years when his health was declining and never wanted to give up hope. He is an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed. Visitation for George will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 South High Street, Randolph and on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 West Street, Beaver Dam.

A funeral service for George will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2019 at church with Pastor Philip Heyer officiating. Burial will follow at Fairwater Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or Hillside Hospice in memory of George.

The family would like to thank Randolph Health Services and Hillside Hospice for their care of George. Randolph Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
