Obituary for George Stringfellow Rush Springs: George Stringfellow, departed this life on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Rush Springs at the age of 80. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Rush Springs Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

George was born Tuesday, July 13, 1937 in Lindsay, to Ervin H. and Letha (Penrod) Stringfellow. He had attended school at Little Rush Springs and had lived in the Bray and Rush Springs area all his life. He married the love of his life, June Brown on September 4, 1956 in Rush Springs.

They would have been married for 62 wonderful years this year. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing, especially catfishing. He loved to tinker on things and work on his boat.

He enjoyed raising his garden and turning the dirt with hi tractor. He like to horse trade with people. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Rush Springs.

Survivors include his wife, June Stringfellow of the home, 3 sons, Robert Stringfellow and wife Terrie of Rush Springs, Johnnie Stringfellow and wife Karen of Rush Springs, Joe Stringfellow of Rush Springs, 2 daughters, Beverly Douglas and husband Tim of Rush Springs, Laura Kelly and husband Steve of Rush Springs, 19 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren with many more on the way. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Jack Stringfellow of Rush Springs, Cecil Stringfellow of Marlow, 4 sisters, Louise Newton of Texoma, Linda Mathis of Bray, Wanda Webb of Nashville, TN, Sharon Fleener of Rush Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Stringfellow, a daughter, Carla Jones, his mother, Letha Stringfellow, 3 brothers, Oran Ray Stringfellow, J.R. Stringfellow, Mack Stringfellow, and 2 sisters, Shavone VanDeMark, Shelley May Gifford.
