George’s Obituary George Tisik, 92 of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on New Years Day, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Weirton Medical Center. Born on December 30, 1926 in Louise, WV a son of the late Jacob and Mary (Schubenski) Tisik. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Helen E. “Betty” (Camilletti) Tisik in 2010, one brother, Lt.

Mike Tisik missing since 1950 from over the Yukon Territory, and five sisters, Mary Olexia, Margaret Kuchinski, Ann Stasky, Katherine Holmes, and Helen Aftanas. George was a World War II veteran of the Army. He is retired from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked in the tin mill.

He was also a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Colliers Sportsman’s Club, the Sugar Run Lodge, the Cedar Lodge, and the V.F.W. in Follansbee, WV. George is survived by three devoted children, Cynthia Tisik of Leesburg, VA, Susan Tisik at home, and George Gregory “Greg” Tisik and wife, Janice of Tamarac, FL; and two grandchildren, Joseph Matteson and wife Erin, and Adrienne (Frank, III) Ballato; two great grandchildren, Frank IV, and Oliver, and three sisters, Julia Tisik, Stella Vilga, and Agnes (Albert) Flasko all of Cross Creek, WV; along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, January 4th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV where a vigil service will be held at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV. with Father Tom MaGary officiating. Intement will follow in St. Johns Cemetery in Colliers, WV.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad. Condolences may be sent to www.
