George Willard Jack of Kansas City, Missouri April 15, 1935 – March 1, 2019 George Willard Jack was born April 15, 1935 to Johnnie Jack and Jannie Matthews Jack in Boynton, OK. George moved to Kansas City, MO when he was eight years old and was educated on the Kansas City, MO school district. He was of the class of 1953 from the Lincoln High School and served our country as a member of the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged after eight years of service.

He was united in marriage with Esther Lorene Fields on January 11, 1958 in Los Angeles, CA. To this union, they became the proud parents of one daughter and two sons. As a teenager, George accepted Christ and became a member of Paseo Baptist Church and later became a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ under the leadership of Pastor Earl Abel.

He was a dedicated member of Palestine for over 50 years. He served faithfully with the Brotherhood and was an active member of the Male Chorus choir. George retried from Trans World Airlines (TWA) after serving there for 30 years.

After retirement, he worked at the Peachtree Restaurant as a doorman where he truly loved connecting with all types of people. George had a gregarious, loving personality and he never met a stranger. George loved to travel the world with his wife, children and grand-children.

He appreciated all types of music and enjoyed watching sports. He loved his culture, and everything connected with it. He often visited the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, various African American museums around the country, he attended the Million Man March and the Millions More Movement.

He always lit up a room, was a dedicated friend and family man who lived his life to the fullest and on Friday, March 1, 2019, he departed this life to be with the King, surrounded by all of his family and friends. George was preceded in death in by his parents Johnnie Jack and Jannie Matthews Jack; his sisters Velma Lloyd and Claudia Patterson; his brothers James Matthews and Howard Matthews; his grandson Christian Jack; his nephew Steve McQuarters and his great nephew Danny McQuarters. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of 61 years Esther Jack, his three children: Arneata Jack, Bruce (Kathy) Jack of Phoenix, AZ, and Craig Jack of Jacksonville, FL.

Six grandchildren: Marlon Smith, Cortez Jack, Naitosha Penn of Nashville, TN, Bruce Jack II, Jarrid (Tamara) Jack and Stephon Fisher. Four great-grandchildren: Kylen Smith, Nydia White of Nashville, TN, Kaden Smith and Marley Smith. Four sister-in-laws: Claudette (Will) Grey of Palm Beach, FL, Marilyn Jordan, Gwen Fields-Abrams of Los Angeles, CA.

, and Wilma Matthews. Three brother-in-laws: Walter (Veda) Fields of Boise, MD, David (Donice) Fields of Tulsa, OK and Lemel (Jacci) Fields of Tulsa, OK. George also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and neighbors whom he dearly loved.

Services for Mr. Jack will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. James Watkins, Sr. officiating. Burial Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
