Mark Beneard Mayo was born March 20, 1968 to the union of Isiah and Marie Davis Mayo in Dumas, Arkansas. His parents and sibling, Russell Mayo preceded him in death. His brother, Tony Mayo, passed away May 18, 2019.

Mark grew up in Dumas graduating from Dumas High School in 1986. He moved to Kansas City, Kansas some years later. He attended Eighth Street Baptist Church in his earlier years.

Having a great work ethic, he worked several jobs. He was an over-the-road truck driver. His last employment was with Waste Management.

Mark met Beverly James and together became the parents of Briana M. Mayo. Briana was truly the “apple of his eye”. He taught her how to appreciate the finer things in life, which included hunting, fishing, horseback riding and bowling.

Mark never met a stranger and was thought to be very friendly and very big-hearted. He also loved Two-Step Dancing and Darts. He passed away on May 17, 2019 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Briana Mayo; brothers: Kevin Mayo and Terrance Mayo; sisters: Linda Thomas and Erma Boyd; childhood friend: Johnny Luster, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Rising Star Baptist Church 1034 Walker Avenue Kansas City, Kansas . Visitation 9:00 A.M. Private Disposition.
