Gerald “Buddy” White, 84, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Mr. White was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He graduated from Fountain Hill High School in 1953 and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. White worked for the Arkansas Highway Police for 10 years and was the owner and operator of the DX Gas Station in Hamburg for a number of years. He served on the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, was a member of the Arkansas Cattlemen Association and a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Lois Oliver White.

He is survived by a son, Chuck White and wife, Janet; his former wife and best friend, Mary Ann White all of Hamburg; a sister, Sylvia Alldread of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Colby White, Emily Berryman, Nik Wood and Jeremy Graves; three great-grandchildren, Cashden White, Rhett Berryman and Kynnlee Graves and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2019, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gene Gregory officiating.

Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Colby White, Nik Wood, Jeremy Graves, Drew Moffatt, Kirby Bonds, Ashton Jones, Josh Pierce, and Jim Burt Gulledge. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Skender, Mike Richard, Johnny Pierce, John Bostick, Stan White, Shelby Scott, George Vestal, Lon Hogan, Claude Riley, Jr., Bobby Griffin, Jeff Myers, Johnny Lee Hampton, Greg Gifford, Sonny Holland and Michael Oliver.

Memorials may be made to the Flat Creek Cemetery Association, PO Box 265, Fountain Hill, AR 71642. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
