Gerald Cornell Richards, 58, passed away on October 24, 2018 at Abbott North Hospital in Minneapolis Minnesota. He was born on November 11, 1959 in Paloma Arkansas to Jimmy Beck and Lenora Walls. Gerald is preceded in death by his nephew Robert Nelson.

Gerald Cornell Richards grew-up in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Southeast High School and received his GED in 1985. Gerald also received his certification in business.

He joined the marines in 1979 and served for ten years and he worked for Virginia Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer for twenty years. Gerald was also the owner of “Gerald’s Detail Shop”. He enjoyed detailing cars, cooking and just living life.

Gerald joined the Rising Star Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri at an early age. Gerald leaves to forever cherish his memory wife Sherry Richards, mother Lenora Walls; father Jimmy Beck, his two sons, Marcus Nance of Forestville, MD. , Brandin Richards, Virginia; two Granddaughters Jaylen and Alaya Nance; brothers Raymond, Albert, Robert, Ronald and Alvin.

Forever to cherish his memory one brother Kelvin Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri, two sisters Gloria McDaniel (Ernest) of Grandview Missouri, Veronica Richards (Dollar Bill) of South Kansas City; Step-children Kamaria Smith, Rashard Smith, Lazaria Williamson, Kejoni Williamson, Travon Williamson and Martenaze Williamson; nine nieces, four nephews and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Gerald Cornell Richards will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Lawrence A. Jones Linwood Chapel, KCMO. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 5, 2018 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
