Gerald “Jerry” Eldon Mills, 78, of Perkinston, Mississippi, passed away, Friday, October 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Diamond Lake RV Park, Jerry’s favorite place to be. Jerry was born March 10, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Edward and Verna (Primeau).

Jerry was also a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for many years as an over the road truck driver, but ultimately… Read More » settled his career as a master electrician through I.B.E.W local 461. He was preceded in death by his son James “Jim” Nelson; siblings, Edward, Roger, Jack, Joyce and Nancy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Leah Rae “Holly” Mills of Perkinston; children, Donald (Lisa) Mills of Michigan, Tracy Shachtay of Ohio, Donna (Jeff) Tittle of Michigan, Scott Mills of Illinois, Paul (Karla) Mills of Illinois; daughter-in law, Marilyn Nelson and sister Marilyn McClellan of Ohio. He leaves behind eleven grandchildren; Aaron, Ashley, Alan, Alyssa, Jamie, Andrew, James, Steven, Zachary, Joshua and Allison. He also leaves behind ten great grandchildren: Ariah, Christopher, Aubree, Sophia, Molly, Emalyn, Jeffery, Evangeline, Chase and Kadyn, as well as two of his best friends Danny and Lori Odum.

A memorial service for Jerry will be held in Michigan at a later date.
