Gerald’s Obituary Gerald Francis Shaw, 72, passed away December 21, 2108. He was born in Chicago, IL the son of the late James and Florence Shaw. Gerald was a United States Army veteran having served in Korea during the Vietnam War.

He later went on to work and retire from personnel management at the U.S. Department of Energy. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Gerald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gretchen D. Shaw; daughters, Kristina Shaw Whetzel and Bonnie T. Shaw; son, Gerald Raymond Shaw; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; twin brother, John Shaw (Barbara), brother, James K. Shaw (Donna); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will he held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Mary of the Presentation, 202 S. Broad Street, Suffolk, VA 23434 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr Emmanuel Mensah officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Condolences may be registered online at www.
