Obituary for Gerald Giles Van Zeeland Gerald G. Van Zeeland, age 76, of Wrightstown, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018. The son of the late Norbert and Marion (Walsh) Van Zeeland was born February 13, 1942 in Appleton. He graduated from Wrightstown High School in the class of 1961.

From 1964-1969 he served his country in the Army National Guard. On September 8, 1965, he married Carol Allen in Wrightstown and together they shared 52 years of marriage. After high school he worked for Gustman for 8 years and then Ft.

Howard Paper for 27 years until his retirement. His faith was important to him, and in addition to being a life-long member of St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, served on the parish council, did maintenance for the church, was an altar server, Eucharistic minister and bell ringer. In his spare time he enjoyed fur trapping, hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and working in the garage rebuilding engines.

He also served on the Wrightstown Village Board and was a former volunteer fireman. Papa Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family, and particularly loved time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Carol; children: Robert (Cheryl), Scott (Kathy) and Eric (Wendy); beloved grandchildren: Megan (fiancé Nate) and daughter Chloe, Benjamin, Ryan, Mason, Maiya, Will, Amanda (Luke) and a future great-granddaughter, Samantha (special friend Patrick), Danielle, Ella and Liam; siblings: Pat Van Schyndel, Tom (Maureen) Van Zeeland, Don (Noreen) Van Zeelend, Joyce (Bob) Lamers, Dale (Muriel) Van Zeeland, Linda (Jerry) Boylan and Roger (Joyce) Van Zeeland; in-laws Gene (Shirley) Allen, Gary (Joyce) Allen; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Mary Lynn; twin brother/best friend Terry (Jeanette); nephews: Shawn and Russ; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Ethel Allen. Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Catholic Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Thursday, April 12, from 4-7pm with a prayer service to conclude the evening at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, at the church, from 9:00am until 10:45am.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Friday. Burial in St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
