Gerald’s Obituary Gerald Huey, known as Jerry by his many friends in Osage died February 28, 2019 at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born to Deloris Huey on September 13, 1967 in Leavittsburg, Ohio. He spent his younger years in Leavittsburg and later migrated to WV where he has resided in the Morgantown and Osage area for over 20 years.

Jerry was known for his kindness and big heartiness throughout the Osage community. Jerry made a living as a highly skilled carpenter and lawn care professional. His skills were used when he volunteered many hours to help the elderly, prepare for annual street fairs and other events that took place in the Osage community.

He was a member of the Scotts Run Museum and Trail Inc He never saw color or reason to be anything but welcoming and friendly. He leaves two children, a son, Codie Huey of Champion, Ohio and a daughter, Samantha Huey of Sharon, PA.

Other living relatives include a favorite Aunt Phyllis Brumfield of Ohio, a niece, Halee Lawrence of Maidsville, WV and many close friends in Osage. He is preceded in death by his mother Deloris Huey Fairchild of Osage, WV, two brothers, John Lawrence of Cassville, WV and Ronald Hane of Warren, Ohio and maternal grandparents, Patrick and Leona Huey of Leavittsburg, Ohio. Jerry will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.

George Sarris called him the hardest worker he ever saw, and he had seen many. (His Aunt Phyllis sends him a special Message, “Rest in peace Gerald, you will be missed”. ) Cremation was arranged by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.

Family and friends will be received for a memorial and repast at the Euro Suites Hotel at 501 Chestnut Ridge Road Morgantown WV on Saturday March 9, 2019 from 1:00-4:00.
